Nice People, But... Do You Know What Mormons Really Believe?
IMPORTANT PREFACE: What follows is not an attempt to "bash" Mormons, for no one could love them more than I do. Keep in mind that the primary focus of this overall web site is directed to reaching Mormons with wonderful news that I discovered that will be a life-changing blessing to them as it was to me--for their ultimate benefit. However this particular page is for the non-Mormon who doesn't know much about the deep doctrines of the LDS Church, but generally just has the impression that Mormons are nice folks. I understand that Mormons have every right to believe whatever they want, and I support that freedom. I am well aware that Mormons are generally very nice folks, and some of their beliefs are very admirable. After all, I was a Mormon, so I know! It is clearly a good thing that Mormons believe in the importance of families, and in kindness, and in "choosing the right" while not choosing wrong; and so forth. But such beliefs are held by most religions, so they do not set Mormonism apart. For this reason the more palatable doctrines are not included in the list below. What you are about to read are the shocking things that you probably don't know about LDS teachings--not for the purpose of "bashing" Mormons, but to expose those teachings that are not widely known. I will not attempt to argue against these beliefs here, but simply to describe what I once believed as a Mormon by way of warning.
