Answers to Frequently Asked Questions By Evangelical Christian Readers
Q: I am a pastor who is very concerned about the rapid growth of the Mormon Church. I can see that their public relations approach is to appear "Christian." I fear that many believers will be taken in by this deception. How can I inform my people about the dangers of Mormon teachings, and the vast difference between Mormonism and Biblical Christianity? A: It is much easier to keep people out of Mormonism than it is to get them out. It is essential that Christian churches begin educating their people about the dangers of all cults, and Mormonism in particular. A very simple way to do this is to teach about the dangers of deception from the pulpit, doing a Biblical study of all the various tests that God has given us to protect us from the Enemy's trickery. I urge you not to fear the public relations ramifications of speaking openly against Mormon doctrine. God has commanded us to boldly preach the word. Beware of the sickness that Walter Martin termed "nonrawkaboatis." Stick to your principles and be willing to expose false doctrine. There is nothing quite as important as the spiritual leader in a congregation taking a stand for truth. Secondly, I encourage you to write to me to obtain a large stack of my glossary tracts Christianity Re-Defined By Mormonism. Let me know how many you need. If your church can make a donation towards the printing of them, it would be appreciated, but if not I would still like you to have as many as you need. My vision is to see a stack of these in every church in America (and even around the world). Very seldom will anyone join the Mormon Church who has studied this tract prior to meeting with LDS missionaries. Think of it as a spiritual inoculation. Thirdly, avail yourself of any public speakers you can bring into your church who know Mormonism well. I am in the Tacoma, Washington area and am willing to do speaking engagements. I know that there are other ministries around the country with people who can help in this way as well. In Christ, Mark Champneys
